What should you do when your clients aren’t getting results? This is a question I hear coaches ask a lot.
First of all, let’s define exactly what a result is. A result is an outcome that your coaching provides, and it can be tangible or intangible.
As a coach, you have to match the results with what you are selling.
But we cannot force our clients to take certain actions. We have to help them have the awareness that leads them to the results they want.
Awareness is often the step that coaches often miss when helping their clients. And it ends up costing their clients their results.
When they don’t get results, it’s not an opportunity to blame them or get mad at them. Get curious and ask yourself why they are doing what they are doing.
Clients should either get results or you should know why they didn’t and have a plan for them to get results in the future. That is what makes you a good coach.
It is okay to be honest with your clients too. Don’t worry about people pleasing or upsetting your clients. They want to know the truth more than they want to be comfortable and safe.
Remember, your clients all have human brains. They need to be shown the awareness to get the results they want.
This is what it means to fully take responsibility as a coach and to deliver what you are selling.
