Us millionaires have problems too!
Things often feel heavier now than when I was failing as a side hustler, because I have a lot more to lose.
Today I’m sharing some of the most painful lessons that came from the best year financially.
The lessons are:
As WOC we forget there are other wealth goals other than buying a house and paying off debt. I had to come up with some new goals and it feels good to be challenged and have goals again!
I pride myself on doing a lot in a short amount of time. This year I’ve realized that I can’t do it all. I had to step back from some coaching opportunities because I couldn’t participate and I needed to prioritize my time differently.
Just do what works and stop trying to make history by doing your own thing. Follow the advice of others and make things simple for yourself.
Buffering is distracting yourself with an action because you don’t want to feel an emotion. I’ve gained some weight this year and this is a result of buffering. I had to decide to process my emotions and feel my feelings instead of buffering by snacking.
I’ve realized that clients come and clients go. I was putting familial relationship status onto work relationships which wasn’t healthy. Now I spend as much time as I can with my family and I’m happy to be a part of my clients’ lives for however long that is.
I’m grateful to finally feel better about a friendship breakup I went through. I also have a positive update around my chronic illness and I’m getting healthier too.
I’ve had to let a lot of things go without trying to correct or control other people. Because I focus my time on the people who do understand me, I’ve seen a bigger ROI for my business.
I finally started a YouTube channel and it has been so exciting and a big success for my business. I should have started it when I first wanted to, but now is better than never.
I need to get coached and work on my identity to reach my next goal. It’s my number one focus going into the new year.
I hope these lessons help you as you work to get to the next level next year too!
