I’m kicking off a 3 part series on the podcast today. This series covers the 3 skills you need to create a full time income.
Part 1 is all about sales identity. So many people haven’t cultivated their sales identity and they have a lot of limiting beliefs around sales.
I’m going to share the main limiting beliefs I hear that are holding people back.
What labels are you giving yourself? It’s not natural to see yourself as a sales person. We aren’t taught to think that way. We’ve been taught to earn, not create.
But sales is creation!
2. Selling is bad
We tend to think that selling is a bad thing. We think when we sell we are taking advantage of someone, or taking their hard earned money.
But do white men think negative thoughts around selling? No!
It is a tool of systematic oppression to think that women of color can’t use the same tool, sales, to grow our wealth.
We can take something that was used to separate us and use it to get our power back.
Selling isn’t bad. People like to buy things that they need and want.
3. You aren’t qualified
You might think that people don’t want your help specifically.
In the corporate world, we did need additional degrees and experience to get ahead. But that is not true in entrepreneurship. In entrepreneurship you get to decide if you’re qualified or not.
If you have a transformation that you can teach someone else, then you are qualified.
